What it is?!
Ogechi (OH-GET-CHEE) here. New York native, LA transplant.
I am a producer and an editor. I’m a writer too, and I love it- makes me feel like a god.
As an editor, I’ve collaborated on shorts, music videos, and features with Hello Sunshine, Bumble, and Out of Many Media, shaping story from the characters perspective, but always with the viewer in mind.
Through editing, I’ve developed a sharp eye for structure, character development, pacing, and world building; the building blocks of a great story.
I’m a trained filmmaker, but I also take an intuitive approach to analyzing scripts and projects, honoring what I’m feeling while engaged with them, which roots my feedback in authenticity, not just “what will sell”.
If your project needs the hands of a producer, writer, or consultant who will help find and shape your story, contact me.
Notable facts:
On one snowy winter day in Harlem, when I was about 6, 7, 8, 9, or 10, I lost grip of my mother’s hand and rolled down several flights of stairs. Several.
Just kept rolling.
I’m fine.
I remember the first time I was called “weird”. It was in elementary school, first grade to be exact, in a stairwell after recess. The air was thick with tension (no it wasn’t). I was wearing this multi-colored sweater with a tiny (very large) hole at my right elbow.
Loved that sweater.
I don’t understand eggplants or why people eat them. People do what they do though, you know?
Still don’t get it though. Why do that to yourself?
I love 70s culture. If I could go back to any time in history, that’s where I’d go. The music. The movies. The fashions. The hair. The slang.
Right on, right on.
